Memoir and Personal Writing Final Portfolio

This the my final portfolio for the Memoir and Personal Writing class that I took in autumn quarter 2024. The two pieces here are What the Cranes Taught Me and A Saturday Afternoon with Tom.

What the Cranes Taught Me was the first memoir I wrote for this class and the assignment was to write about a specific experience from my life. I wrote about the times that I have traveled to Monte Vista, CO to see Sandhill Cranes. For the second memoir, A Saturday Afternoon with Tom, the assignment was to write a personal essay using a cultural artifact lens. I wrote about the first time I saw the painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat for the first time with my father.
